Truro A 0
Tavistock 1
TAVISTOCK men's hockey club were away in Newquay for a 4 o'clock start against an unknown Truro side.
Tavistock started with confident play, fluid and fast passing attacks being mounted through to the right and middle areas of the pitch.
Despite pressure being applied to the Truro defence, the attack of Carl Jeffrey and Christian Oliver could not penetrate the eight man Truro defence.
The second half started in much the same way as the first, with Tavistock still enjoying the majority of play.
However, this time the useful Truro keeper, having saved a strong shot from Oliver, was unable to react in time to Jeffrey who, on the rebound, slotted the ball home.
With Tavistock now ahead, Truro began to mount more attacks and with the Tavistock keeper in the thick of the action it was clear that he was going to have a busy ten minutes.
With two excellent reaction saves and good solo work from his captain, Tavistock were able to hold the lead.
Man of the match: Phil Honey.
This week's game: Tavistock 1st V Plymouth University A.
