BRENTOR student James Pancheri, who is studying for a Fine Art BA Hons at Falmouth College, has created an eight-foot hamster wheel, which he ran along the old railway line from Princetown as part of his course work. James has been studying the collection and shedding of materials and objects, with objects and furniture highlighting why people horde or collect things. Recently he has been combining his stories with sculptural performances. Using film performance, he made a film entitled Prison Break: a journey running from Princetown prison in the huge hamster wheel. 'The enclosed and simple method of moving about gave me the opportunity to create humour and a playful element in the film,' James said. He was inspired by the old 1920s Buster Keaton films and Victorian prison treadmills. James' work featured in an exhibition at the Wood Lane campus in Falmouth from June 17 to 21. He is pictured left with his giant hamster wheel construction, which is mainly made out of pallets.
