THE Okehampton Skate Jam, open to skaters, bikers and scooter riders takes place on Saturday, July 2 at Okehampton Skate Park.

The opening event of the Okehampton Sports and Fitness Festival, the Skate Jam has open competitions from 2pm as well as a BMX time trial event run by Moor Cycles. There are prizes available as well as the chance to try out circus skills.

The Skate Jam is also a fundraiser for future developments on the skate park site, which has been led by young local people as part of the Oke Skate and Riders Project, with support from Room 13.
