TAVISTOCK man Jake Cox has passed out from Sandhurst as a second lieutenant in the Royal Fusiliers.

Jake, 23, was born in Tavistock Maternity Home and went to Whitchurch School followed by Tavistock College and sixth form.

He went to Wolverhampton University to do a degree before joining the Sandhurst Academy army training course.

Jake was one of some 200 recruits who were passing out on the day in a parade watched by his parents Geoff and Sally, sisters, grandmas and friends.

He is now off to Wales for three months training before he flies out to Cyprus in August to join the battalion.
