ITV has confirmed that film crews will be visiting Horrabridge over the summer to shoot several scenes for new series Glass Houses, starring Dawn French.
The drama series is created and written by Mark Brotherhood and also stars Mark Heap, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Vicki Pepperdine and Patrick Robinson.
The main filming for the show will take place in the Noss Mayo area but ITV confirmed to the Times that some filming would take place in Horrabridge after it was highlighted during a recent Horrabridge Parish Council meeting that the London Inn had offered the use of its car park to film crew technical staff.
A spokesperson for ITV said: ‘Genial Productions, who are making the show, do have a small amount of filming just outside Horrabridge in the shooting schedule. The show is filming in various places over the summer — no transmission date has been set yet.
‘Genial Productions chose Horrabridge because it has a beautiful location and would look wonderful on screen.’
Glass Houses follows the stories and fall out for Maggie Connors (Dawn French) who doesn’t pay attention to the cautionary adage that ‘those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones’.
Dawn French said: ‘We have been developing Glass Houses for some time and I can’t wait to finally get started in front of the camera. It’s such a good story with a fantastic, funny, touching script by Mark Brotherhood. Let me at it!’
