A TEA Dance is being held next month to mark the official 150th anniversary of the opening of Tavistock Town Hall.

The town hall opened on February 2, 1864, to members of the public who proceeded to dance the night away — and 150 years later the hall will open once again to the public for a very special dance afternoon, from 2pm to 5pm.

Live music will be provided from Yorkie (pictured above right), a band from Gunnislake, which will play for three 45 minute slots.

During the event, on Sunday, February 2, an afternoon cream tea will be provided, and the bar will be open, if people would like something a bit stronger!

Dressing up for the event is optional.

Tavistock Area Support Services (TASS) will be providing local transport for the event. Call the town hall for more information.

Tickets are available from the town hall or the pannier market for £9, or £10 on the door, or call 01822 617232.
