MAY I thank the Times for its coverage of the events at Tavistock Football Club for the month of November.

It has been a busy one with the visit of league sides Torquay, celebrating Andy Meed?s 200th appearance for the club, and Bristol City appearing to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Red and Black Club.

First and second team shirt sponsors have been recognised for their contributions to the club.

Off the park there has been the fundraising day at Tavistock Golf Club, the chairman?s stepping down from full time at Stannary Gallery celebrated with a presentation at the club, and the Memorabilia Day.

There has been a great deal of photo coverage for all of these events, but sadly some people only look and see the faces of those involved and not the event itself that the club is promoting. Because that is what we are doing.

We only go to the paper when we have something that we feel we have to offer and it is up to them if they wish to publish it or not.

We as officers and members only seek to promote the club and we are not in the paper for any glory or recognition but a thank you does not go unnoticed.

It was nice to see the athletic club featured in last week?s paper and as a former chairman of the club may I offer my congratulations to them on winning the Devon Track and Field League.

No small achievement when you consider them beating the likes of North Devon AC and Exeter Harriers who have far better facilities than the club has. Well done.
