THE OCRA Sports and Fitness Festival is drawing to a close, but there is still time to participate, with events running until Sunday July 10, concluding with 'Super Sporting Sunday'.
Tomorrow (Friday) children between 7 and 12 years old can play cricket at Okehampton College, and a multi-activity action club in Simmons Park and Parklands takes place for youngsters between 6 and 16 years old.
For adults there is pole fitness at Phoenix Gym between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
Saturday July 9 has a fuller programme of activities, with children's hockey on the all-weather pitch, and trampolining in the Okehampton College gym.
For those wanting to try something more unusual, Castle Drogo will play host to old school sports and fencing on the first day of their 1920s weekend between noon and 4pm. Alternatively, there is an open day of water sports at Roadford Lake, including sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and more.
Adults can take part in the trampolining, water sports open day, events at Castle Drogo and an adults' mixed netball afternoon at Phoenix Gym from 4pm.
The week's events close with a 'Super Sporting Sunday' on July 10 at Simmons Park and Okehampton College.
The 'Moor Than 10k' run organised by Okehampton Running Club starts from the park at 11am, crossing a variety of terrains.
The tennis and junior tennis finals take place a week after the Wimbledon finals.
There are adult tournaments in hockey and football, and Exeter City Soccer Skills will be around to show 6 to 14 year olds some new football tricks and techniques.
There will be a putting competition for everyone 8 and above, and art activities on the college sports field.
Parklands will be open for a free swim between 1pm and 4pm, and will play host to a dance-off, sports demonstrations and frisbee throughout the day.
Free event programmes are available now at Martin's, Donald's Menswear, Okehampton Library, Red Lion Bazaar, Parklands Leisure Centre and local post offices.
