IT is now exactly 25 years since TV magician Geoffrey Durham did his first professional performance ? and to celebrate he is taking his unique one-man show to theatres all over Britain, including the Wharf, Tavistock on Thursday, October 10.

Originally a busker calling himself Scrappy Lambert he did a special line in swallowing razor-blades and eating fire.

?It was all just a trick and I guess from there it was a small step to learning real sleight of hand,? he recalls.

When the magic bug bit it was with a vengence and he was soon working all over Britain and becoming the outrageous Spanish conjuror ?The Great Soprendo?. With his wife Victoria Wood he was performing in their own West End show.

In his one man show the popular magician, TV personality, actor and illusion adviser will give an entertaining insight into his magic career.

?It won?t be a tell-it-all show ? but it will be showing the audience the ways in which magicians can manipulate our minds. I really couldn?t be honest about my life as a conjuror if I didn?t.?

And what is Geoffrey?s favourite trick?

?The last one I did, usually. Although I have a soft spot for a real little miracle when I borrow three wedding rings and link them together! And then there?s suspending four pints of water in mid air ? I like that.

?Not to mention bending a mirror . . . Well, I guess you?ll just have to see the show and decide which one you like best.?
