IT WILL be hot at RHS Rosemoor this weekend as the garden hosts its first ever chilli fiesta. The sizzling event will combine chilli growers, products and lots of fun and food to try. Over 30 producers, coming from as far afield as Scotland, are bringing award winning products and foods to the gardens. Visitors can stroll around the marquee tasting sauces, chutneys, chocolate, cakes, herbs and fudge with flavours that range from mild to wild. Crafts inspired by chilli and herbs will give visitors a chance to buy something unique. Cookery demon-strations from Craig McKnight, who has acted as chilli guru to London's Wahaca chain of Mexican restaurants, will show guests how to incorporate chillies and flavours to spice up a number of dishes. Demonstrations continue with talks from expert growers. Gardeners will have the chance to listen, learn and question growers on how they best grow their plants. Plants and seeds will be available to buy. Children can get their face painted and hunt out chillies on a special chilli trail, while samba dance workshops will get toes tapping. Visitors can also judge the photography competition. The festival runs on Saturday and Sunday (May 10 and 11) from 10am to 6pm. Tickets are available on the door, though admission is free for RHS members.
