LAST weekend's Sunday Fun Day in the Meadows, Tavistock was a great success despite the rain, kicking off a week of carnival events leading up to the procession on Saturday.

The crowning of the carnival queen was enjoyed by the crowds who also stayed to watch singers and musicians and demonstrations by the town martial arts groups. A dog show was also very popular.

During the weekend Joey The Lips performed at The Wharf and there was a duck race on the canal.

The Edge arts festival continues throughout the week with pop up events and knitted items adorning the town.

The theme for this year's carnival is Music Makes the World Go Round and will be led by the City of Plymouth Pipe Band. The procession starts from?Down Road at 6.30pm and will make its way around the town.
