SIX members of the Dartmoor Cycles Downhill team are pictured showing their new race colours. The new kit was presented to the team last week by its sponsor and manager, Derek Heliss from Dartmoor Cycles in Tavistock. The squad was formed to take part in major downhill mountain bike races across the country, including South Wales and Scotland. The team train and ride locally and are all members of Woodland Riders, one of the biggest downhill clubs in the country which was formed to use private land at the Woodland Estate, near Gunnislake — it includes some of the best downhill tracks and freeride jumps in the South West. The seven members from the team are currently looking forward to a proposed new world class downhill course planned at Gawton, Bere Alston, as part of the Tamar Development Plan. Derek said this is an exciting new development and will put the South West on the map for downhill riding. Derek is pictured with members Kenny Edwards, Jon Credicott, Andy Doyle, Jodie Bent, Richard Bedford. Seventh member Jake Boylett is not pictured. Picture by James Bird
