YES ? the blue Christmas stamps will be available again this year.

With Christmas fast approaching people will soon be writing their cards and hopefully sending the local ones by Guide Post.

Members of Girlguiding Tavistock will be organising their annual postal delivery service, which is usually very well supported by the people of the area.

Last year the girls delivered more than 7,000 cards within Tavistock town and Whitchurch village. The scheme enables the girls to be of service to the local community and and at the same time raises money for Guiding activities throughout the year.

Blue stamps and post boxes will be available from tomorrow (Friday) at all Guide meeting places and at the following local stores: Lake Pharmacy, West Street; Superdrug, Duke Street; Tavistock Launderette near the Pannier Market; Crelake Stores, Whitchurch Road and Red Cross House, West Street.

The stamps are still 15p each and posting will close at 5pm on Friday, December 19 so that the Guides can deliver cards over the weekend of December 20 and 21. Customers are requested to ensure that envelopes are addressed carefully and clearly to help get cards delivered before Christmas.
