A WEST Devon art group known for its friendly atmosphere is hoping to attract a few more members to enable extra tuition at its weekly sessions. The group meets at Bratton Clovelly village hall and a tutor comes to the sessions every fortnight. Jack Hayer, a member of the group, said: ?We are hoping to pull people in from further afield, from Northlew, Lifton, Lewdown, Bridestowe etc, to increase the classes so we can have a tutor in every week. ?We work in all sorts of media, watercolours, pastels, all kinds of things ? basically, anybody who wants to come along and splodge paint on paper is welcome.? Jack said he joined the group last September and has been really pleased to have found his work improving over the months. ?It?s a very friendly group ? we have coffees, we have a laugh and a giggle ? but we?d like to extend it,? said Jack. The group, which meets on Wednesdays between 2pm and 4pm, has applied for funding in the hope a professional oil painter could come along and work with the members and they are keeping their fingers crossed the application will be successful.
