FIVE?hundred yellow ducks will be streaming down the River Ockment on Sunday May 1.
But it is not part of migration season — the duck race is part of the annual May Fair organised by the Okehampton Rotary Club in Simmons Park.
The fair kicks off at 11am with a car boot sale, where visitors can hunt out a bargain or two. For those looking to sell some bargains, each car costs £5 upon entry.
The fair will be officially opened at 12pm by Okehampton town mayor Michael Morse.
Throughout the afternoon visitors will be able to enjoy various stalls, fairground rides and refreshments, as well as a licensed bar.
The popular dog show also makes a welcome return to the fair for canine lovers.
OCRA will be running sports events and activities, and Adventure Okehampton will have a climbing wall for any thrill-seekers.
Music will be performed throughout the afternoon by the Okehampton Silver Band and Wren Music.
The three duck races begin at 2pm, with the winner of each race pocketing £100, with £30 for second place and £10 for third place.
Don't be dismayed if your duck is not as fast as you hoped — the last duck to finish wins £5!
