EVERY dog has it?s day . . . and now they?ll get a whole week, thanks to animal welfare officers in East Cornwall who are running the National Pet Week roadshow.

Callington will be the venue for a whole day of the roadshow where pet owners can take advantage of freebies and advice on everything from gangrenous goldfish to diabetic dogs.

Caradon?s senior animal welfare officer, Checkie Taylor, said: ?If you?re crazy about cats or devoted to dogs, we can help with information on animal care, training, overweight pets, worming and flea treatments.

?We can also advise on small pets like guinea pigs, rabbits and rats.

?The roadshow is a fun way of getting across serious messages about pet ownership and helping local people to give their animals the best care possible.?

The National Pet Week Roadshow is also offering dog owners an opportunity to have their pets microchipped for just £10 on site.

There will be a chance to meet Caradogs Tia, Misty, Bonno and Nala as well as a giant cuddly toy competition.

Anyone interested can go to the show at the Co-op today (Thursday) or visit Torpoint Somerfield store on Friday.
