THREE schools in South East Cornwall have been invited to join in one of the most exciting events planned this summer.
To celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee, St Mellion Golf and Country Club is hosting an open air music festival on the weekend of July 27 and 28 and have selected three schools to join them in a very special way!
Stoke Climsland, St Mellion and Callington primary schools have all held auditions and have each selected ten lucky children to form a choir who will sing live on stage with Platinum ABBA, the outstanding tribute band, who will be performing before a thrilled audience on Saturday July 27 at St Mellion International.
All three schools were overjoyed when asked to join in such an exciting show and were only too pleased to supply ten eager stars who are relishing the prospect of singing in front of a live audience of up to 4,000.
The children will attend one rehearsal before the show and will again practice their song on the afternoon with the tribute band, before making their stage debut towards the end of the second half.
The concerts comprise two nights of high quality, great value entertainment with an energetic evening planned for Saturday with Platinum ABBA and on Sunday the Bath Philharmonia Orchestra performing Proms classics to celebrate the golden jubilee in style.
Both evenings end with a free 15-minute firework display.
Tickets are available for both evenings on (01579) 352012 and cost £15pp ABBA and £18pp Jubilee proms. Children under 14 years are free on both evenings.
