MARY Tavy Church will be lit up this weekend as it holds its first ever Christmas Tree Festival.
The festival will be open from today (Thursday) to Sunday, December 7 between 10.30 am and 4.30 pm, with children from Mary Tavy and Brentor Community Primary School coming to a Christingle service on Sunday at 11 am.
The parish priest, the Rev John Higman, said they had 13 organisations taking part, from the village pubs to the primary school, WI and other groups.
He said: 'We are delighted that so many village organisations and businesses are taking part and supporting this event.
'We have had tremendous support from everyone.
'It has drawn the village together and is very much a village community event.'
