OKEHAMPTON Carnival Queen Kymberley MacDonald (pictured)?was the star of the show last Saturday when the town was transformed for the colourful event.

In the afternoon, the Charter Hall was filled with youngsters dressed in colourful and inventive costumes for the fancy dress competition.

Carnival prince and princess were Bradley Bosher and Charlotte Dell.

The children's procession took place in the afternoon and the main procession made its way through the town during the evening.

Stan Stormont, chairman of the carnival committee, was very pleased with how the day turned out: 'It was a great day. The weather was absolutely perfect, and everyone who participated seemed to enjoy themselves greatly.'
