A RIDE in a vintage car was one of the highlights of the Bridestowe Ram Roast held on the Sporting Green last Saturday.
The event was well-attended and organisers expect it to have raised as much as last year towards the cost of a new village hall.
Attractions for young and old included tarot readings, line dancing by ?The Patsy-Ann and her Borderliners Line Dancing Demonstration Team?, coconut shies, skittles, a bouncy castle, live music and many stalls.
Bridestowe Gardening Club did a roaring business with their plant stall, Ian Hockin was in charge of the ram roast, and the barbecue was run by Phil and Janet Rattenbury.
The raffle winners were announced by John Leonard.
The weather was warm, but one slight disappointment for those attending was that the tethered hot air balloon rides had to be cancelled as it was too windy.
But the breeze did not stop the event ending with the traditional egg throwing.
The day?s fun was also rounded off with some precision targeting in a welly throwing contest.
Main organiser of the ram roast was Alison Young, who was thanked by David Porter for her hard work.
