THE weather was not good enough on Sunday week to hold the planned open air songs of praise on the millennium green at Albaston. Instead the service was held indoors in the Tamar Valley Methodist Church.
The service was attended by members of the Methodist Churches throughout the Callington and Gunnislake Methodist Circuit and by members of the Church of England in Calstock Parish.
It was conducted by the Rev Martyn Smith, superintendent minister. Seven hymns chosen were linked to an Olympic theme. Mr Smith had attended some of the events.
Prayers were led by the Rev David Stolton, and the closing prayers by the Rev Robert Oakes. Music was supplied by Tavistock Versatile Brass Ensemble.
