TAVISTOCK Town Hall will be filled with exhilarating art and lively music on Tuesday, June 7, as the first ever Tavistock Young Artists’ Exhibition opens its doors.

Nine local schools and two youth clubs, along with Tavistock library, have helped organise entrants aged from 3 to 19 years old, creating vibrant art on the theme of colour. The Tavistock Youth Café’s Zephyr Project will be showcasing its musical talents too, helping create a very special evening that celebrates the creativity of local young people.

Organiser Andy Cairns, from West Devon Art Workshops, said: ‘We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm for this project from young people, teachers, youth workers and so on.

‘This exhibition will help put our young people at the centre of the arts in Tavistock. We hope to establish this as an annual event and inspire other towns to organise something similar.’

The exhibition runs until June 9.
