The U-turn to keep Okehampton’s Market Street toilets open is our front page news this week, but there’s been plenty going on in the Okehampton area this week — here’s a round-up of the coverage in today’s Okehampton Times:
• FORCE Cancer Charity is moving all of its services in Okehampton to the town’s hospital.
• West Devon Borough Council has backed down on a plan to close Market Street’s public toilets at the eleventh hour.
• An outreach service brought in to fill the gap after the closure of West Devon Borough Council’s customer service office in St James Street has been extended for three months – but reduced to one day a week.
• Okehampton’s MP MP Mel Stride has been assured that a feasibility study for a regular rail service between Okehampton and Exeter is on track to be presented to the Government within 12 weeks.
