TWO Tavistock residents lifted silverware at the recent Plymouth Motorclub annual awards evening, held at Elfordleigh Country Club. Tony Carver came out of retirement to win the autotest championship after a hard-fought competition ? 25 years after he first won the title. Peter Kelsey, in his first year of motorsport, secured an excellent third place overall and won the Dean Sayer Memorial Trophy for the best newcomer to motorsport, plus the Best Newcomer to Autotests Shield. Peter was only 16 when he first started competing. This year he and Tony intend competing in the interclub championships throughout Devon and Cornwall. The pair expressed thanks to Simon Allen of Tavistock Tyre and Exhaust Services and Steve Metters of Saltash Crash Repair for their continued interest and support.
