A COFFEE morning and disco will be held in memory of an Okehampton resident who died earlier this year.
Laura Bennett died nine weeks after being diagnosed with Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma on June 24.
Proceeds from both events will go to Cancer Research, Friends of the Oncology and Radiotherapy Centre (Force), Yarty Ward and the Intensive Care Unit at The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the coffee morning, which will have a draw, tombola and table top sale. There will also be a silent auction with the chance to win a signed rugby shirt by players and the manager of the first team at Bath Rugby Club, a Mark Lemon speedway testimonial race jacket, signed by professional riders, a signed Exeter City first team football, as well as a polo shirt and beanie hat.
Also up for grabs at the auction will be a signed photo of Everton Football Club, a pressure washer, one year's free admission for a child at Crealy Adventure Park, two tickets for Plymouth Raiders, a vintage ukulele and more.
The coffee morning will be held on Saturday, October 24 from 10am to 1pm at Okehampton Conservative Club.
A disco fundraiser will also be held in memory of Laura, during the week of what would have been her 40th birthday, on October 27. The disco will be held on October 24 from 8pm to midnight at The Conservative Club in Okehampton.
