JOIN Valley Volunteers this Saturday and help create an improved habitat area to attract insects and birds to the 'Feeder Tree' at the Tamar Trails Centre, near Gulworthy

Insect-friendly perennial and shrub plants will be planted to ensure a greater supply of insects, eggs and larvae for the birds to feed on.

The ground will also be prepared by forking out some of the more invasive plants already present, and planting coloured willow cuttings as a backdrop to the area.

The event starts at 10.30am and will finish at 4pm. Participants are invited to take part for a few hours or are welcomed to stay the whole day.

Meet outside the Tamar Trails Centre café, drinks and a hot lunch will be provided for volunteers.

The Tamar Trails Centre Car Park (Tree Surfers) is near Gulworthy, just off the Gunnislake to Tavistock road. Car parking permits will be issued for the day for volunteers.

People are advised to dress appropriately for the weather, bring gloves and suitable working footwear.  All tools, equipment, plants and training will be provided.

Please let us know if you are interested in coming for all or just part of the day, or if you would like more information.
