A WEST DEVON employee impaled his wrist on farm machinery after slipping while collecting rubbish. Bere Alston fire crew was called to the scene at Braunder Farm, Bere Alston, at 8.40am on Monday, with a Tavistock crew for back up. Bere Alston sub-officer Colin Shaw said it appeared the man, who was emptying rubbish bins, slipped over and fell backwards, impaling his wrist on a hay bob. The 12- inch part of the machinery was unscrewed and the man taken to Derriford Hospital to have it removed. Sub-officer Shaw said the man did not appear to be in too much distress.
