THE Lions Club of Tavistock recently presented three cheques to the nominated charities for last year’s Trees of Light.
The three charities, Parkinson’s UK, CLIC Sargent and Marie Curie, each received £2,000, with a further amount to come once the Gift Aid rebate is received from HMRC.
Lions president Paul Blowey expressed thanks to all those who sponsored a light in memory of a loved one as well as Morris Bros (Tavistock) Ltd for covering the administration costs, South West Lakes Trust for supplying the trees, the works staff at Tavistock Town Council for erecting the trees and the Tavistock Times Gazette for printing the sponsorship form and the list of sponsors.
