A MAN from Sticklepath has completed a mammoth cycle ride from John O’Groat’s to Land’s End in memory of his father.

Mark Tansley arrived at Land’s End on Sunday, October 4 having set off from the most northern point of Scotland on September 24. By completing the challenge Mark has raised over £1,800 for Prostate Cancer UK.

Mark said: ‘I’m not a natural at stuff like this but I really wanted to raise as much money as possible in memory of my dear old Dad who sadly lost his battle with prostate cancer in 2013.

‘During his illness, Dad showed true grit, bravery and inner strength. With every pedal rotation he, and the money donated, was my inspiration.’

Mark stayed at home in Sticklepath on Saturday night before setting off bright and early on Sunday to complete his challenge.

Mark’s wife Daniella and two children Eve and Lucy told the Times they are all very proud of Mark’s achievement.
