THE Easter egg hunt at Milton Abbot, run by the village community group, was a great success.
The children hunted for eggs in the vicarage gardens then took part in many races, including egg and spoon and sack races. The mothers' and fathers' races in particular were very hard fought.
Serco provided the Easter Eggs and Mavis and Country Snug Interiors of Milton abbot provided a home-made simnel cake and Easter basket with goodies, including a portrait from Mike Marker Photography and a ticket to Tree Surfers at Gulworthy.
The event raised more than £180 which will be used to help maintain the proposed play equipment on the village playground which is currently bare.
Thanks were expressed to all who supported the event.
The group has now obtained planning permission for the park and is currently looking for local sponsors to help secure funding for the project.
