TAVISTOCK pentathlete Heather Fell has her eye on a place representing Great Britain in the Beijing Olympics in 2008 after earning a team gold in Hungary last week. The former Kelly College student took part in the GB team competing in the fifth World Cup series - her third World Cup this season. Heather 24, came an impressive 13th overall, out of 63, in the demanding women?s pentathon, which sees athletes compete in five different disciplines - shooting, fencing, swimming, show jumping and culminating in a 3,000m track race. In Hungary the 24-year-old, came in 31st after the shooting and fencing, pulled up to 27th after the swim, had a clear ride with maximum points to put her in 18th spot before a strong run saw her overtake five athletes to finish in an excellent 13th place in the international field. Heather was a member of the gold medal winning team with fellow GB team members George Harland and Mhairi Spence. She told the Times: ?As a result of my last few competitions I am currently ranked second on the British ranking list and have therefore been selected for the European championships next week in Riga, Latvia. This is an important comp as it is the first chance to qualify for the Olympics with the top eight finishers gaining a place for Beijing in China. ?I have also been selected to represent the South West at the inter-regional fencing championships being held in Stoke on Trent at the weekend so I hope this will be an opportunity to improve my fencing before going to Latvia on Wednesday.?
