Okehampton U13s 15 Honiton U13s 12 OKEHAMPTON started brightly with excellent driving play from the forwards putting a big Honiton side under pressure. The resulting possession allowed the backs plenty of opportunities and eventually this paid off as Bradley Ausden showed his pace to score a fine try in the corner. Honiton came back strongly with good driving play and had a number of scoring opportunities but a solid Okehampton defence kept them at bay. Eventually the pressure told and Honiton went over for an equalising try, which was converted to give Honiton the lead. This seemed to spur Okehampton into action as they again put Honiton under pressure, resulting in a try for Matt Johns and to give them a half-time lead. The second half was an even affair with handling errors from both teams putting them under pressure. Okehampton reverted to driving forward play and after a succession of rucks Lee Hughes went over for a deserved try to cap another strong performance. Okehampton seemed to tire as Honiton piled on the pressure. They were rewarded with a try to bring them within a single score of Okehampton with a few minutes to go. Okehampton held out and were rewarded with a hard fought close win.
