GIDLEIGH Park at Chagford has won the Best Hotel Restaurant of the Year award at the Devon Life Food and Drink Awards 2014.

Recognised as one of the top foodie events in Devon's calendar, the awards celebrate the very best of the local food and drink industry, with Gidleigh Park beating two other finalists to win this year's Best Hotel Restaurant accolade.

The awards are voted for by Devon Life readers, who vote for their favourites across 16 categories, with the top three establishments in each making it through to the final, for independent assessment by a panel of judges.

Gidleigh Park was recognised for its selection of modern British cuisine using locally sourced produce. 

Gidleigh Park collected the award at a black tie ceremony in Exeter last week following a very successful year, which has seen the restaurant retain its two Michelin stars for the 16th year running.
