THE Okehampton Junior Netball League held a tournament for division one last week to conclude this year's season.
The five teams that have competed in this division played each other in five minute matches, resulting in a change of fortunes from the league results.
The standard of play was high with some strong attacking moves in the many close matches, several of which ended in draws.
Hot Shots were triumphant, gaining 16 points to take the gold medals along with the new tournament shield, donated by the Okehampton Inner Wheel.
Flip Flops were runners up with 14 points and took the silver medals. Black Magic and All Stars were joint third on 12 points and Pick 'n' Mix came fifth with eight points. Player of the tournament was Katie Neville of All Stars.
The league resulted in quite a different picture with Black Magic dominating, having been unbeaten in their eight matches to gain the maximum 40 points with 132 goals for and 74 against. They received the gold medals and the league shield.
Pick 'n' Mix were runners up with 26 points from three wins, one draw and four lost to take the silver medals. They scored 82 goals for and 87 against.
Flip Flops were third with 25 points, Hot Shots fourth with 23 points and All Stars fifth with 16 points.
Player of the season was won jointly by Naomi Rubbra of Black Magic and Rachel Piddington of Flip Flops; in second place were Izzy Ewen and Emily Sizmur, both of All Stars.
The committee thank all the teams for their committment to the league this season and wish those that are moving on to the adult league all the best with their netball.
The annual meeting will be held on Monday, June 1 at 7pm in Parklands.
