HOT local ensemble — Jazz Conspiracy — is playing at the grand opening of the newly refurbished Calstock Riverside restaurant this weekend.

Chef Fred Dunn and business partner Sarah Beer have recently taken over the waterside venue and have spent the last month redesigning it.

To celebrate, Jazz Conspiracy, fronted by Calstock saxophonist and flautist Gavin Randle and percussionist Avron Levine, with keyboard player Jerry Forbes, bassist Vanessa Williams and a guest vocalist from Manchester, will play Saturday night. As part of the festivities there will also be a Cajun barbecue during the day.

Ms Beer said: 'We are hoping to encourage people from a wide cross-section of community into the area.'

Jazz Conspiracy kicks off at 9pm.
