ERIC Clapton has called him ?The next up and coming blues rock player? and he has been voted one of the 50 all-time great blues rock performers by Guitar Magazine. He is Carvin Jones, known throughout the United States and Europe as the ?Phoenix Thunderbolt? and he will be appearing live at The Wharf, Tavistock in October. Self-taught Carvin Jones was born in Texas and raised in Arizona. In looks and sound, he somewhat resembles Jimi Hendrix but his music has also been inspired by the styles of Freddie King, Howlin? Wolf, Cream, Carlos Santana and Eric Clapton. Although it is rare for a contemporary blues artist to be described as ?unique?, Carvin Jones is top of a class all of his own. Local audiences will soon be able to experience for themselves the stunning performance of one the most exciting artists of his generation when Carvin Jones presents his amazing 8pm show at The Wharf on October 20. The support band for Carvin Jones will be Blue on Black. Box office: 01822 611166.
