MORE than 25 community organisations will be in Bedford Square on Saturday September 3 for Tavistock Community Day.
The free event has been coordinated by Connect, West Devon Borough Council's outreach service and will run from 10am to 3pm.
Connect hosts drop-in sessions featuring various organisations in West Devon parishes throughout every month. September 3 will be the result of weeks of preparation as public service, not for profit and charitable groups set up in Tavistock town centre.
Cllr Donald Horn, mayor of West Devon said: 'Connect has been running for more than four years and has brought much needed information from the council and its partners out into our parishes during that time. The service has had a very positive response from residents.
'Tavistock Community Day is a chance for people to meet representatives from many of those partners all in one place, as well as to talk with borough council officers about public services.'
Exhibitors will include Dartmoor National Park Authority; Devon Air Ambulance; Devon and Somerset Fire Service and South West Water among others. Advisers from the council will also be available to chat about recycling, housing and benefits. Everyone is welcome.
