OKEHAMPTON Community Hospital will be opening its doors on Friday, December 19, to give the people of the town the chance to come along and see a working day at the hospital.
Val Mansfield who is organising the open afternoon, said: ?We are inviting people in to have a look around. It is an opportunity for the people of the Okehampton community to see the hospital.?
Mrs Mansfield said the people of Okehampton and the surrounding villages had given very generously to the campaign to provide state-of-the-art equipment for the hospital and this was a chance for people to see how the money was spent.
?This is your hospital, this is what your money has bought,? she said.
Mrs Mansfield said the afternoon offered the chance to see around the hospital, and also experience the Japanese healing garden which many people may already have read about, but not seen.
Mrs Mansfield said the Friends of Okehampton Hospital would be on hand during the open afternoon, selling mince pies and cups of tea.
She said the open day invitation had been made on a Friday, as fewer clinics were held that afternoon, thereby causing minimum disruption to the running of the hospital.
The hospital will be open to the public on Friday, December 19, between 2pm and 4pm. All are welcome.
