WEST Devon residents interested in becoming a fundraising volunteer for St Luke's Hospice are invited to a special volunteer evening on Friday, November 7.
Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer for events in Tavistock and surrounding areas is welcome to attend the charity's Volunteers Evening and meet the fundraising team.
The event will be held from 6.30pm to 8.30pm in Tavistock Parish Church Centre. For more information contact Debra Sweet on 01752 492626 ex 268.
Volunteers are vital to the running of St Luke's as they not only enhance services to patients and families but, in many cases, enable the charity to provide extra services, which would otherwise not be possible.
The charity currently has more than 800 volunteers and it is estimated they save the hospice almost £1-million a year in salaries.
The volunteers are not only economically vital, they also provide a wealth of skills and perspectives and a vital link between St Luke's and the communities it serves.
