A crew from Torrington, the specialist rescue team from Barnstaple, a supervisory officer and specialist rescue advisor attended the incident. On their arrival, one horse had already been released from the trailer but the second was still stuck inside.
The crew stabilised the trailer to allow a veterinarian to attend to the horse inside.
The trailer was then moved to a nearby field to allow the second horse to be freed.
