PICTURESQUE Bratton Clovelly was the new venue on Sunday for Lamerton Hunt Horse Show, which moved to Swaddledown Farm after many years of holding the annual show at Brentor.
This popular new venue attracted competitors from as far afield as Torbay and, it is hoped, that with its 38 varied classes, including side-saddle and show jumping, it will be held again next year.
Supreme Champion went to Ilse Daly riding Golden Wonder II and reserve went to Angela Browne on Devil?s Touch.
Local competitors did exceptionally well throughout the day, and winners included Amy Perkins from Bridestowe winning the novice show jumping on her horse Loveday at her very first show.
Amanda Friend from Northlew won the intermediate show jumping and also came third in the open class.
The Lamerton Hunt Pony Club swept the board with The ?Tiny Tots? pony class. First went to Emily Harland from Tavistock, Jessica Harrison from Chillaton was second and third went to Matthew Tillier from Lifton.
Cathy Pearse from the Uphill stud at Lewdown won the native class on her Welsh cob ?Dwyfor Gregory? and Amanda McLindsay, also from Lewdown, won the family pony class on her Highland ?Kyle of Dunrui?.
Lamerton show is one of the few that holds side saddle classes and local rider Sandra Higgins from Broadbury near Okehampton was best adult rider on her retired racehorse ?Larry?.
Sarah McIntyre from Bratton Clovelly was 2nd in Best Rider class and 3rd in Novice Working Hunter.
