HORSE riders on Dartmoor are being urged by the military to make sure they are clearly visible next week when riding on the northern part of the moor.

Lt Col (Rtd) Tony Clark, Commandant of the Dartmoor Training Area, said between December 3 and 7, five Royal Navy helicopters will be flying over the military training area between Princetown and Okehampton.

'Riders are encouraged to wear luminous jackets, so the helicopters can see them,' said Lt Col Clark.

The helicopters are undertaking routine deployment exercises.
