Horrabridge B 2 Roborough FC 4 ROBOROUGH FC visited Fillace Park to take on Horrabridge Rangers who had drawn their previous two fixtures. Both teams started brightly and the midfield was being keenly contested. Horrabridge made seventeen year old Dominic Beech captain for the day after their two most experienced players were missing through injury. After 20 minutes James Hobbs broke the deadlock for Rangers with a superb strike from outside the box. Roborough equalised within minutes and it was end to end stuff. Centre forward Kev Easterbrook then pounced on a fumble from the visitors? keeper to make it 2-1 at the break. After the interval Roborough came out snapping at Horrabridge heels and trying the referee?s patience with some over zealous challenges. It was cruel to see a speculative up and under bounce on the six yard box hit a divot and deceive the otherwise assured Rangers? keeper to even the scores. The physical nature of the game was taking its toll and when Horrabridge skipper Beech went off with an injury Roborough seized the initiative and ran out 4-2 winners. The youngsters at Horrabridge kept battling to the final whistle. Of the thirteen players used, only three of the Horrabridge boys were over eighteen.
