Feniton Second XI v Tavistock Second XI

TAVISTOCK Cricket Club Seconds were away to Feniton where they were hoping to maintain their challenge for promotion.

Captain John Rich lost the toss resulting in the home side batting on what could only be described as a concrete road.

Tavistock?s veteran opening bowler Stuart Munday took some heavy stick.

Will Simpson and Dave Jeffery bowled as well as could be expected on a batting paradise.

Feniton finished on 217 all out.

Tavistock started well with Paul Strawbridge and Steve Johns putting on 25 for the first wicket.

John McGahey then came to the wicket and dominated the situation, which looked like an easy win for Tavistock.

He was eventually out to a rash shot for a superb 73.

The middle order collapsed completely, finishing eight runs short with seven balls remaining.

A game which has an easy solution of midweek net practice.
