BOUNCING into action last week was children's charity CHICKS when it launched its spring campaign. Country Holidays for Inner City Kids' (CHICKS) coastal retreat was the venue for a three-hour non-stop hop, skip and jump-athon in its trampoline barn for the charity's fundraising campaign. Operations manager Rod Webb-Taylor was joined by supervisors and local children at the charity's Brentor base to mark the start of the fundraising campaign. Schools, community groups and individuals from West Devon and East Cornwall are also asked to take part in the Hop, Skip, Jump campaign. This could range from being sponsored to skip to school or jump on a trampoline for an hour or hop around the office. Nicola Bean, community fundraiser for CHICKS, said: 'The great thing about the Hop Skip Jump campaign is that anyone can take part, indoors, outside, at home, at school or even in the office. 'It's a fun way to encourage people to move about and raise money for a fantastic cause at the same time.' CHICKS provides free respite breaks to disadvantaged children from across the UK at its two centres in Devon and Cornwall. During a break children get to engage in confidence enhancing activities, including horse riding, abseiling, adventure park visits and trips to the beach.
