THREE talented West Devon choir girls have been honoured for their singing abilities in a presentation at Truro Cathedral.

Emily Dixon and Abi Little, of Okehampton, and Laura Tear from Horrabridge, all received prestigious awards from the Royal School of Church Music, Cornwall area.

They were presented with their ribbons and certificates by the Dean of Truro, the Very Rev Michael Moxon, at the annual Diocesan Choral Festival last Saturday week.

Emily, 14, and Laura, 15, passed the Dean's award, while Abi, 16, gained the Bishop's award.

The headmaster of St Joseph's School, Launceston, where all three girls are pupils, said he was 'enormously proud of the achievements of these candidates.'
