THE classic Hans Christian Anderson nursery tale of a gawky hatchling who becomes a beauty, is set to be brought to life by the talented troupe of young actors from Tavistock Children's Theatre Club (TC2).

Honk! is a lively musical version of the story of the Ugly Duckling and follows the journey of shunned  Ugly and the friends – and not so kindly creatures – he encounters in his eventful search for a happy place to call home.

The show is to be staged at The Wharf in Tavistock on Saturday April 9 and Sunday April 10, with all the trademark high-energy and talent that audiences of TC2 have come to expect.

Director Steph Reese said: 'This has been an amazing show to work on. The songs by Stiles and Drewe are emotional and catchy and the characters are larger than life and such good fun.'

The show on April 9 starts at 7.30pm and on Sunday April 10 at 3pm and 7.30pm. Tickets cost £7(adults) £5 (under 16s) and can be bought from The Wharf box office 01822 611166.
