Isca Dragons 3
Tavistock Ladies 2nd XI 5
TAVISTOCK had an advantage when Isca only turned up with nine players. Tavistock started well with good passing between the midfield of Zoë Viggers and Kate Eadie.
Tavistock pushed up with a good ball down the wing from Sarah Court to Robynne Honey, who challenged a defender and won, allowing her to cross the ball in to the D for Sarah Barratt to strike at goal.
Eadie and Court kept possession of the ball and crossed it to Zoë Viggers in the middle, who sprinted with the ball at her side.
She looked up and put it straight to Court?s stick in the D and with a lovely strike a well deserved goal came.
Isca Dragons had a few strikes at goal that they were saved by keeper Roz Watts, but they managed to sneak a goal.
After a re-group and a bit of coaching at half-time Tavistock went out with determination.
There was some good battling and nice ball pinching from the backs Chloe Bassett, Nell Trotter and Sarah Guy.
Tavistock had a good breakthrough as Bassett cleared the ball and Eadie had a good opportunity to drive the ball down the right wing to Barratt, who crossed it to Court. This allowed her to swipe it past the keeper and Tavistock were 3-1 up.
Tavistock lost it for ten minutes and in that time Isca slipped two goals in.
Tavistock picked up their game and players got a boost of energy, making good runs and intercepting balls whereever possible.
They pushed upfield with good passing back from Court on the left and Eadie on the right.
Court worked well with forwards Barratt and Honey to secure another goal, putting Tavistock ahead 4-3.
Then Tavistock broke through Isca?s defence where Honey had a one-on-one with the goalie and caught the ball on the volley to make the score 5-3.
