AFFORDABLE home hunters who live, work or have family in the Bere Peninsular may wish to visit West Devon Connect's advisers at the Bere Alston's Parish Hall Saturday Market on November 8.
There between 10am and 1pm they will be able to register their interest in a scheme of 15 affordable rented, one, two and three-bed homes and two shared ownership properties well underway in Woolacome Road, Bere Alston.
Alex Rehaag and Naomi Carr of West Devon Borough Council's housing team will be able to show interested visitors the plans and ensure that they are registered on the Devon Home Choice system. The development is due for completion in the New Year.
Cllr Robert Sampson, chairman of the community services committee of West Devon Borough Council, said: 'With many new housing developments not achieving high rates of affordable homes it is very heartening when a development can boast 100 per cent affordable homes and really does help in the provision of local homes for local people.
'This is a significant development for Bere Alston.'
Dog's Trust is offering free microchipping for all dogs brought along on the day, a saving to owners of around £20 per dog.
The law is changing — all dogs will have to be microchipped by April 2016
Cathy Hipsey, Outreach and Befriending co-ordinator from TASS will also be available to chat to residents on activities they offer including: Transport to health; Bere Alston's drop in service; and Befriending.
A West Devon Borough Council customer service adviser will also be available to help with your council and other agencies queries.
Everyone is welcome to drop in.
