A TAVISTOCK care home that provides a warm and welcoming environment is celebrating after being named an Investor in People.

Meadowside Nursing Home has invested in the development needs of its staff to raise expectation through the care home ? providing them with the skills and encouragement needed to help residents live in comfort and dignity.

Meadowside Nursing Home, which specialises in the care of people with long term mental health problems, was supported through Investors in People by Business Link for Devon and Cornwall.

?We are over the moon to be recognised as an Investor in People,? said owner Anne Hine.

?The programme came at absolutely the right time for us.

?We were focusing on new national standards as set out by the Care Standards Act 2000 and fortunately new procedure met with the requirements of both Investors in People and the new national standards.?

In recommending Meadowside Nursing Home for recognition assessor Frederick Harrop said: ?This strong commitment to individual training and development is underpinned by an effective individual review process which everyone values.?
